The Amalfi Coast to Cilento 70 million for the restyling of mini-airports Construction and Real Estate

About 70 million euros. It is the weight of the thirteen projects of safety and modernization of the ports of the Salerno area that many municipal administrations have presented to the offices of the Campania Region, and which have returned to the ranking of "yes" to their continuation. The officialization came yesterday from the Transportation sector of Palazzo Santa Lucia, which formalized the closure of the project assessment phase. Some of them are already at an advanced stage and, therefore, practically close to the start of tender procedures for the start of construction sites; others, however, still have to face the final part of the design. Among the works that can be immediately carried out are the projects presented by seven Municipalities of Salerno: Maiori and Cetara, on the Amalfi Coast, and then Agropoli, Pollica, Castellabate and Pisciotta in Cilento, and Santa Marina in the Gulf of Policastro. On the other hand, the projects presented by the municipal administrations, all Cilentane, of Casalvelino, Ascea, Ispani, San Giovanni a Piro, Centola and Camerota are in the final phase. Excluded from this specific call the port of Salerno, because the recipient of funds related to the large infrastructure project.

The approved works concern the safety of the regional ports, possible excavations of the seabed, as well as the introduction of new technologies for the safety of ships and passengers, such as, for example, surveillance camera circuits. "It is an important result for the economy of the sea of ​​the regional territory - explains Luca Cascone, president of the Transport Commission at the Santa Lucia building? and it is the second major challenge faced after the question of securing the road system. It is obvious that providing the ports with advanced security systems or simply modernizing them results in an overall improvement of the activities of the ports themselves and of the resulting tourism. Knowing that you have safe havens? concludes Cascone ?? it can be an important criterion for choosing tourists for their holidays ". Seven areas of intervention included in the programming eligible for funding: we start from the interventions to make the regional port system safe even for the protection of the natural environment, up to the strengthening of the offer of infrastructure and integration ports with port back areas.

Overall, throughout the territory, the Region has allocated € 135 million for the safety, upgrading and tourist-economic enhancement of the regional port system, through interventions aimed at improving infrastructure and services, accessibility and availability. • integration with retro port areas. Particular attention will be paid to environmental protection and the use of innovative technologies. 27 entities took part in the expression of interest, closed on 31st July 2018, presenting more than 50 projects. Of these, 12 entities are financed with an executive project (worth over 67 million euros), 8 entities with a definitive project (63 million), and 9 entities with a different project to be finalized for which it is planned to finance the completion of the design.
