The participants also recommended new facilities for the country's housing sector, reviving exemptions for the National Housing Fund, such as exemption from housing tax and duties, and other concessions such as land cuts.

The project of establishing the finance portfolios is the solution to the dilemma that has plagued the country over the past year, despite the facilities granted by the state to the sector, according to Omar Saadane, director of media at the National Housing Fund, which indicated that there are two housing portfolios established in Sennar and Blue Nile states in the southeast, The two portfolios achieved great success despite the exchange rate challenges.

Omar Saadane revealed the challenges of finding international housing finance for the housing sector in the country, despite the lifting of the US embargo and sanctions on Sudan in October 2010, in which international real estate companies submitted projects in Sudan, but their inability to convert Their money abroad has hampered the idea.

The Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning last year directed the Central Bank of Sudan to inject more funds into real estate finance projects in the country and to provide the necessary facilities and guarantees to attract foreign investments to the real estate market in Sudan. It also agreed to increase the capital of the real estate bank, And low-income housing Some of these directives did not come to the ground either.

The National Fund for Housing and Reconstruction in Sudan relies on local banks and banks to provide financing for low-income housing projects in the country, with a vision of providing diverse housing styles that accommodate the needs and potential of all.

The Islamic Development Bank in Jeddah has agreed to provide substantial funding for housing projects in Sudan, technical support for housing projects and attracting international experts to study and transfer international expertise to the housing sector in the country.

At the end of last year, the National Housing Fund called on Sudanese banks to finance low-income housing projects within the framework of social responsibility for banks at the Housing Fund Managers' Forum hosted by Khartoum on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the National Housing Fund .

According to the recommendations of the conference, the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning and the Central Bank of Sudan will provide the necessary guarantees to finance the national housing projects in the country. Saadan pointed out that the new network will link a number of entities working in housing projects in the country, including international organizations working on resettlement projects in the west of the country.

He added that these will be coordinated to achieve the goal of providing shelter for all, pointing out that the country has suffered greatly from the dispersion of efforts in the field of reconstruction and housing, so that there are multiple parties without a link between them.

The Housing and Development Fund in the state of Khartoum yesterday announced through a press conference of the Sudanese News Agency, the future plans in the field of popular housing and investment, in the framework of the implementation of shelter for all and guidance of the State in this area. Khlouti acknowledged that there are problems regarding international support for housing in Sudan, and obstacles facing the work of the Fund, namely currency fluctuation and the erosion of the remaining house prices due to the influx. He said that the Fund's resources are currently coming from the investment housing, as well as the lands granted by the Ministry of Urban Planning Pointing out the importance of creating customs facilities and exemptions to reduce costs.

He added that the Fund has implemented multi-storey vertical housing projects with a number of schemes in the capital, including the housing return schemes in Soba and the Martyr Abdelwahab Othman area in Omdurman, in addition to apartments and villas in installments throughout the capital.

The economic crisis in Sudan since the beginning of last year led to protests against the economic and political situation in the country due to the instability of the pound exchange rate against the dollar, the continuous rise in construction materials and the lack of real estate finance.
