Qatar National Cement Co. awards the fifth production line contract Technology and Equipment

The cement and minerals business line of France, the Fives FCB gets the award for the fifth production line contract by Qatar National Cement Co. (QNCC). The new fifth production line will have a clinker production capacity of 5000 tpd. The supply contract covers all equipment from raw material preparation to final dispatch, contains the following process technology:

• A 5-stage sole string FCB Preheater and its FCB Zero-NOX precalciner.

• A 6400 kW raw grinding FCB B-mill and its correlated FCB TSV™ 7500 Classifier.

• A 4.8 x 76 m three-pier FCB Kiln.

• Two 4200 kW cement FCB B-mills of and their correlated FCB TSV® 4000 Classifiers.

• Two TGT® process filters.

The project will be executed in three steps: first, the cement mill within 17 months, the second grinding plant within 19 months, clinker production and firing up the kiln within 27 months. Belgium’s TPF-Basse Sambre s.a. will work as consultant engineer on the project.

The increasing demand driven by infrastructure projects in Qatar, such as preparation task for the World Cup 2022, will be assisted by the additional capacity. QNCC’s lines 2, 3 and 4 turnkey projects, with a total capacity of 11 000 tpd of clinker, earlier carried out by Fives FCB.
