MP introduces oil royalties project Materials and Products

Federal Deputy Gustavo Fruet (PDT) presented yesterday in the Chamber of Deputies a bill that allows Paraná to receive royalties from the pre-salt. Fruet's idea is that IBGE (Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics) redefines the maritime territorial limits of the states and municipalities.

According to him, by the current rules, only Paraná and Piauí do not have the parallel lines of projection of their territory, already they only have concave configuration in its coast. "Despite being a producer state, Paraná is undermined by the current maritime territorial limits," says Fruet.

The project had already been presented in 2002 but was not voted on. "The theme is a priority from the beginning of exploration of the pre-salt, with the confirmation of new discoveries of oil exploration wells," he says.
