Sultan Qaboos Award for Excellence

The Information Technology Authority (ITA) organized the sixth edition of the Sultan Qaboos Award for e-Government Services in 2018 in the Great Hall of the Cultural Center of Sultan University under the patronage of Minister of Finance, HE Darwish bin Ismail Al Balushi. 64 projects have competed for this year's award from various institutions in the Sultanate, including 47 government projects, 9 private enterprise projects and 8 small and medium enterprises.

The award was crowned by the Ministry of Manpower for a communication project in the category of the best e-government service provided to the public. The Ministry of Environment and Climate Affairs also received the award for e-services for the business sector in the category of the best e-government service supporting the business sector. The Royal Oman Police was crowned by the application of the Royal Oman Police as the best application for smart devices in the government sector. The Ministry of Manpower also won a project that participated in the category of best practice in community e-participation.

The Ministry of Information won the award as the best completed government institution for electronic transformation. The Ministry of Manpower won a data project as the best open data initiative. As part of the private sector projects, Amman Airport was crowned with the e-Airport Data Services project for the best e-service in the private sector. The award was placed in the category of best application for smart devices in the private sector. The State Council Office reviewed the draft general budget for the fiscal year at its first meeting for the fourth annual session of the sixth period under the chairmanship of HE Dr. Yahya bin Mahfouz Al-Manthiri.

The committee discussed the two proposals that the Committee on Culture, Information and Tourism wished to study on the establishment of an Arabic language complex and a study on the organization of the declaration.
