Lex Autolease gets £100m fleet contract Transport and Related Services

The Global infrastructure services group, Balfour Beatty has awarded Birmingham-based Lex Autolease a contract worth more than £100m to manage its UK company car and light commercial vehicle fleet on a sale and leaseback basis.

The five-year deal sees Lex Autolease considers responsibility for 6,000 vehicles which are used across all of Balfour Beatty’s UK operating companies.

Lex Autolease will provide vehicles on a contract hire basis and facilitate an extensive range of fleet management services covering service and maintenance, accident management and core vehicle hire.

Through sale and leaseback of the majority of the fleet, transfer of services has been accelerated, which involves assets from legacy lease providers and will be backed by an ongoing programme of specialist consultancy programmed to detect and unlock future cost savings.

The contract will provide instant cost savings and facilitates us to target internal fleet resources on our critical capability of heavy goods vehicle accouterments and specialist plant and equipment services. Following an extensive analysis of fleet requirements throughout our UK business, we landed into partnership with Lex Autolease, who demonstrated their capability to handle complex fleet requirements throughout various industry sectors and aims at productive partnership with them in near future.
