Jacobs surmise to be one of the largest and most distinct providers of technical professional and construction services across globe, bags the award for basic engineering contract for Northcliff Resources prospected 30,000 tonne/day Sisson tungsten/ molybdenum project in New Brunswick, Canada. Northcliff Resources stakes the major operations and ownership activities of the contract.

The contract states Jacobs will address engineering services and planning activities for the plant and related site infrastructure of the proposed mine project, which is supposed to advance from the cost and initial engineering phase to the detailed engineering phase in start of 2015.

According to the Terry Hagen – Vice President, Jacobs Group, they are contented to apply their symbolic expertise in mine engineering and construction and their active presence in New Brunswick to assist Northcliff on the Sisson Tungsten/ Moly project.

In 1979 – 1982, Kidd Creek Mines initiated the exploration drilling work on the Northcliff’s Sisson deposit, and following delineation drilling by Geodex Minerals from 2005-2009. The first estimated resource was completed in 2007, and updated in 2009. Socioeconomic and Baseline environmental data collection began in 2007. Geodex minerals conducted the preliminary metallurgical test report, with positive results. Northcliff completed 66 drill holes (11,175 metres) in support of feasibility work, from 2010-2011.

Northcliff released positive results from the Sisson Project Feasibility Study, comprising: a pre-tax net current value (NPV) of $714 million at an 8% discount rate, an internal rate of return (IRR) of 20.4% and a 4.1-year payback on initial capital expenses of $579 million and a post-tax NPV of $418 million, IRR of 16.3% IRR and payback of 4.5 years, in January 2013.

The above figures were based on a 30,000 tonnes per day open pit mining and milling work with an ammonium paratungstate (APT) plant, handling 281 million tonnes of ore over 27 year mine life at an average APT cash price of $8.18 per tonne, to yeild. On average, 4.1 million pounds of molybdenum and 557,000 metric tonne units (mtu) APT per year.
