Insituform Technologies gets $US13.4 million pipeline rehab contract Environment and Sanitation

St. Louis based Aegion Corporation’s subsidiary from Canada, Insituform Technologies Ltd has been awarded a $US13.4 million contract from the City of Montreal to rehabilitate pipelines up to 130 years old. The pipelines are situated mostly in residential areas in boroughs across the city.

Around 11 miles of egg-shaped brick pipelines and 10-inch to 42-inch diameter joined sewer system pipelines using its air inversion steam cure installation method will be rehabilitated under the project, by Insituform Canada. The company will facilitate the internal reinstate roughly 3,400 service laterals using robotic cutters; this will deduct energy usage during installation.

The City of Montreal have been awarded nine contracts to Insituform Canada, since the office opening here in 2010, with a combined cost of over $33 million resulting in the rehabilitation of over 16 miles of pipelines across the city and its boroughs. Work on the project is likely to start with immediate effect and expected to wrap up by May 2015.
