The newly power Bharitya Janata Party (BJP) government introduced an e-procurement platform for future defence acquisitions in an effort to check corruption and wrongdoing, on 6 June.

All the future procurements worth more than INR1 million (USD16,666) would now be published via the e-platform: eprocurement.gov.in.

This limit will be halved to INR5 million from April 2015, to ensure probity in all its transactions.
