Haya Water awards OMR38 million Amerat Water Reuse projects Environment and Sanitation

Haya Water awarded contracts worth OMR38 million for the third and fourth package of the Amerat Water Reuse Project on Monday.

The contract signing ceremony took place at the Muscat Municipality building.

The contracts involves installation of networks for water treatment in the north and eastern areas of Amerat.

The chairman of Muscat Municipality, Eng Mohsen bin Mohammed al Sheikh and chairman of Haya Water Board signed the contracts in the presence of directors general of the executing companies.

Eng Hussain bin Hassan Abdul Hussain, CEO of Haya Water was also present at the signing ceremony.

The Consolidated Contractors Company, Oman was assigned with the northern area project. The OMR16.2 million project is likely to be completed by October 2017 and covers laying of a 62.km of wastewater pipeline, installation of 13.35km treated waterlines and 230.4km of fibre-optic channels, 70km of side pipelines, in addition to a 23.2km domestic pipeline network.

The Gulf Petrochemical Services and Trading Company bagged the eastern area contract. The OMR21.4 million project will be done by January 2018.

The project involves laying a 8.9km wastewater pipe, 86.5km of side pipelines, a 9.9km network for treated water lines and 230.3km of fibre-optic channels, in addition to a 32.4km domestic pipeline network. The Muscat wastewater network blueprint has six wastewater catchments Amerat, Muttrah, Bausher, Muscat, Al Misfat and Quriyat.
