The Expo 2020 is expected to boost the UAE economy by $ 33 billion, a study published by Ernst & Young said on Monday. Matthew Benson, a partner in the company's transaction consultancy services, said the huge event is expected to contribute 1.5 times the expected GDP of the UAE.

He said at a press conference that the new mega construction projects and other effects of the exhibition, which lasts six months will create 50 thousand jobs annually in the same period.

The exhibition will begin on 20 October 2020 and continue until 20 April 2021.

According to Benson, Dubai expects to attract 25 million visitors in this period.

The report said that Expo 2020 will, as expected, "add value to the UAE economy directly and indirectly" as well as the resulting value. "Expo 2010" in Shanghai attracted 93 million visitors while Expo 2015 attracted only 22 million visitors in Mian. The Dubai government has so far spent $ 40 billion on major infrastructure projects linked to the fair, including $ 2.9 billion on a new metro line and $ 8 billion to expand the nearby Al Maktoum International Airport.

Al Maktoum Airport is expected to receive 160 million passengers annually.

Organizers say the Expo 2020 site south of Dubai will become a full city after the fair, called the "Constitution 2020"
