Dangote Oil Refining awards $139 million petrochemical project to EIL Power and Energy

The petrochemical project near Lagos, Nigeria has been awarded by Dangote Oil Refining to Engineers India (EIL).

Under the $139 million project EIL will facilitate project management consultancy (PMC) and engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCM) services for the project.

The project includes construction of a 600,000t per year polypropylene plant and a petroleum refinery with a capacity of 400,000 barrels per stream day, the project will be based in Lekki Free Trade Zone.

The facilities will include a residue fluid catalytic cracking unit, a diesel hydro-treating unit, a crude distillation unit, a continuous catalyst regeneration unit, an alkylation unit and a polypropylene unit, while the crude and product-handling facilities will also be combined with the refinery through single point mooring (SPM).

EIL is an EPC and complete solution engineering consultancy in the petrochemicals, pipelines, petroleum refining, oil and gas terminals and storages, fertilisers, mining and metallurgy, and infrastructure sectors.

The company has facilitated engineering consultancy services to many projects in the North Africa, Middle East and South East Asia.

The project comes right after the $300 million loan approval from the African Development Bank (AfDB) to the Dangote Industries for the setup of a greenfield crude oil refinery and a fertiliser manufacturing facility.
