Agreement to promote energy development and integration projects in the Sultanate Power and Energy

The Oil and Gas Ministry and Shell and Total signed an agreement to finance and implement the 2019 work program to develop gas resources for integrated projects to meet Oman's growing energy needs.

The agreement was signed by the Minister of Oil and Gas, Mohammed Bin Hamad Al Rumahi and Shell CEO Ben Van Burden signed by Total Exploration and Production President, Mr. Arnoud Broyak.

The interim agreement for the upper section covers the gas sites located in the northern part of Box No. 6 in the west of Saih Rawl gas field, which is operated by Petroleum Development Oman. In cooperation with Total and OOC. The project will include investments in gas exploration and production, which will be integrated and utilized in a gas liquefaction plant project currently being discussed and planned to be operated and developed by Shell and OOC.

"This agreement represents a quantum leap in the sector and we hope that the development of gas resources for integrated projects will play an important role in driving the diversification of the Omani economy and creating added local value. This agreement marks a new chapter in the process of our close and fruitful cooperation with the Sultanate. "

The Ministry of Oil and Gas, Shell and its partners (Oman Oil Company and Total) will continue their joint co-operation to finalize energy project agreements set out in the Memorandum of Understanding signed in May of 2018, Long-term success.
